November 16th, 2010

1999-2006: TVR TuscanThe Tuscan was offered with five different engine options4 variants of the 4.0 L “Speed Six” (Tuscan, Tuscan Red Rose, Tuscan S (pre-2003), and Tuscan S (post-2003)) and also a 3.6 L version with a lower torque. The “Speed Six” was a specially developed TVR engine with six-cylinders and 350 hp at 7200 rpm. A Mk 2 version of the Tuscan was released in 2005, a year before its retirement, but the modifications to the original model were in appearance only. The Tuscan raced from 0-60 mph in 3.68 seconds, and from 0-100 mph in 8.08 s. The Tuscan lacked electronic driving aids and air bags, since TVR believes that these features do not improve safety or the performance of their cars.2002-2006: TVR TamoraThe Tamora is a 2-seater sports car also fitted with a Speed Six engine. Featuring a 5-speed manual transmission, the Tamora can go from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. The front brake rotors are 12.0 inches, while the back rotors are slightly smaller (11.1 inches). The suspension features a double-wishbone at each corner. Overall, the car is 154.5 inches long, 67.5 inches wide, and 47.4 inches high and weighs 2,337 pounds. The Tamora was the base for the T350 coupe, which was released in 2003.2003-2006: TVR T350 Targa & CoupeThe coupe model is known as the T350C, while the targa is given the classification T350T. Both featured the Speed Six engine. The coupe had two doors and a 5-speed manual transmission with the same double wishbone suspension in the front and back. The wheels were 18 inch spider aluminum alloy and came in both Anthracite and Silver. The 0-62 mph speed was rated at 4.4 seconds, while the 0-100 mph was only 9.5 seconds, with an estimated top speed of over 175 mph. This TVR model did offer a small concession to the driver in the form of electro-hydraulic power-assisted steering.2004: TVR TyphonThe Typhon has the honor of being the fastest production TVR ever besides the Cerbera Speed 12, which does hinder its road safety. Only two road-legal models still exist. The car boasts a top speed of approximately 200 mph, with a “supercharged variant” that could hit 215 mph and higher. Although the Typhon is no longer in production, a successor known as the TVR Typhoon was announced in 2007. No further details have been announced, however.2004-2006: TVR SagarisThe Sargaris debuted at the 2003 MPH03 car show and was released for public sale in 2005. The car is based off of the T350 model, but with added air vents and intake openings to allow for endurance racing. No additions are necessary to account for the car’s excellent cooling system. The Sagaris is named after a battle-axe used by the ancient Scythians. As with previous models, the car features the Speed 6 engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, and double wishbone suspension. The 0-60 mph time is 3.7 seconds.
