1947 Trevor Wilkinson forms TVR Engineering with Jack Pickard.1949 First car is built, a two-seat alloy-bodied model.1953 TVR develops glass-reinforced plastic body.1958 First production model, TVR Grantura I, is released.1962 Wilkinson and Pickard leave the company.1965 Martin Lilley purchases company.1980 TVR Tasmin is released, the first TVR to deviate from the glass-fibre body design.1981 Peter Wheeler purchases company.1996 TVR Cerbera Speed 12 appears at Birmingham Motorshow.1999 TVR Speed Six engine is developed by John Ravenscroft.2004 Russian millionaire Nikolay Smolensky purchases company.2006 Smolensky splits TVR into three companies and resigns.2007 Smolensky bids to reacquire TVR and announces plans to sell the company, but is currently still in control.2010 New car expected near end of year, produced by German manufacture Gullwing. This could be the first car sold in the United States.
